Frequently Asked Questions
How can my website appear on Google?
See our PDF SEO GuideGoogle is a search engine, which means that it will need to go through a process called Indexing, to be able to display your website correctly.
Champion Web provides free submissions to Google, Yahoo, and Bing, which would enable your webpage to appear in search bars. However, websites are ranked independently and we do not guarantee results.
Google doesn't add new websites to their results immediately. Normally it may simply be too new if the site doesn’t show up on Google at all (can take about a week). If it’s just a matter of ranking, the best way to improve it is to improve SEO in the website editor.
Please see this page to submit your website and monitor which search terms your website appears in: https://search.google.com/search-console/about
You can also create a Google My Business page at https://www.google.com/intl/en_au/business/
> Can the website be indexed faster?
You can try speeding up the process simply asking Google to crawl your new site via the Google Search Console tool. However, Google doesn’t always guarantee this will move the process along quicker.
> What if the content is indexed, but the website doesn't rank highly in search results?
It’s important to remember just because a website is indexed, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will always be the top result with Google search results.
For instance, if the business name is fairly generic (i.e. “Relaxation Massage”), any search term containing these keywords will also return sites containing the same words.
In terms of having your site appear higher in Google search results, we would recommend getting set up with a Google Business Profile.
Finally, another way they could increase the visibility is to look into paid Google Ads.
How to publish my website?
To publish your website and make it available online, you will need to click the 'Publish' button on the top right-hand corner.
After the website is published, you will be able to visit your website by visiting your web address.
What is A/CNAME records?
A record is in other words, the IP address of a website. It consists of some numbers, separated by dots. Usually there is only one A record, but you can also have multiple A records for website pointing.
CNAME records contain the text-based website pointing instructions of a website. There will always be a CNAME with the host name ‘www’ and this is usually accompanied with a verification code (TXT record).
To connect your website to a third party platform, you will need to add both A and CNAME records to your Web Address Settings on your control panel.
If you send us the DNS records, we can also add it for you.
How to find my website?
Once you register your Web Address, you will need to connect it to a website for it to appear on Google.
A Domain Name is the web address, in other words, your online business name, and the website is the actual website connected to the web address.
To create a website, press 'Start Website' on your control panel to select a subscription plan.
Why is my website is appearing as 'not secure'?
SSL Certificates are what makes a web address secure - the difference between http:// and https://
If you don't have a certificate, then your website will display as 'not secure' on your browser.
SSL encryption with the website editor is automatic, however, if it is more than 48 hours, please email support@championweb.com.au and we will generate a new one for you.
We're only able to set up SSL certificates for domain names that are connected to our in-house website service.
If you would like to lodge one with an external provider, SSL services can only be completed through them. You'll have to set up your SSL certificate through your third-party website provider.
You can also get a free SSL certificate from websites such as zerossl.com
How to connect a Third Party website (e.g. Shopify, Wix, Squarespace)

My website is down?
ButtonTo check if your website is down, please follow this link: https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/
If it is just down for you, we recommend checking the Web Address Settings of your Control Panel to see if you have the correct DNS records.
> If they are correct, you can check at any time the propagation of your website worldwide at: https://www.whatsmydns.net/
> If you have only just updated the records, please allow for 24-48 hours for your website to reflect online. You won't get a notification about this, so just check again after a day to see if your website is connected.
I want to update my nameservers/ I want to connect to a Website
ButtonChanging nameservers is not recommended as it will disrupt your service with us.
If you would like to connect your web address to a third-party website provider, please let us know if you would like to cancel your existing Website Editor subscription with us.
We recommend using the Pointing Method and updating your A or CNAME records from within the web address settings area of your control panel instead.
Please reach out to your website provider to get a copy of your A Records and CNAME records.
Otherwise, send us an email at support@championweb.com.au and we can update your settings for you.
Your A Record will look something like:
13.24.753 or 182.251.212
Your CNAME Record will look something like:
pointing.dns.com or googlesites.com
If you don't have a CNAME Record, you can input the default text:
Host Type 'www' , Type 'CNAME' , Content 'your domain name without the www e.g. (gingerhouse.com.au)
This means that your www.gingerhouse.com.au address will be based off of your gingerhouse.com.au web address.
Where is the Help Center for websites?
The Website Editor is the platform that powers your website. It maintains and stores information on your website, allowing easy 24/7 edits and a user-friendly interface with the drag-and-drop editor.
To make the most use of the Website Editor, there is the Help Center - https://support.multiscreensite.com/hc/en-us available, which has detailed instructions on how to use each feature within the editor.
Connect website to a domain name I already own
If you already have a domain name registered with a different provider, but would like to use our website, email or customer support service, then you can transfer your domain over to be registered with Champion Web.
At this stage we can only transfer your domain name to us if you already have an existing customer account with us.
You can recover the domain password (sometimes called EPP code, registration key, transfer key, or UDAI) by contacting your current provider.
As for the renewal, this will add on to your existing time.
How to update my DNS Settings (web address settings)?
DNS Settings contain all your settings where you can add an A record, CNAME record, MX record, TXT record.
1. Log in to your "Control Panel" at championweb.com.au/panel
2. Go to Web Address and click on settings
3. Enter the Host Name (you can leave as blank when you are required to add '@')
4. Select the 'Type'
5. Enter the 'Content'
6. Save
Computers can only communicate using series of numbers, so DNS was developed as a sort of “phone book” that translates the domain you enter in your browser into a computer readable IP.
You can update various records within your web address settings to connect your website.
I want to cancel my website subscription
Please send a written confirmation to cancel your Website Editor subscription, as this involves us taking down your website permanently.
Once the Website Editor Subscription or Monthly Plans are cancelled, we will need to take down your website and disable the Website Editor access.
We are unable to put website subscriptions or hosting fees on hold, since the payment is required to keep the software that powers your website running.
I want to transfer my website to another website host
Websites are built natively on a platform, therefore there isn't a straightforward way to 'transfer' it to another website platform such as Squarespace or WordPress.
Our recommendation for 'transferring a website' will be for you to recreate your website using a third party website platform or find another website host that has a hosting-only package.
If you have a new website already running on a third party website platform, then you can simply disconnect your web address from our website editor, and reconnect it with the new website.
To do this, you will need to update your Web Address Settings with the A, CNAME, and TXT records found from your new website platform. These can usually be found when you search for how to 'connect a custom domain name'.
Alternatively, send us an email at support@championweb.com.au with the name of your new website host and we will assist you there.
